Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists are doctors who specialize in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues/ disorders in children and adolescents. Almost 1 in 7 Australian children suffer from a mental disorder. ADHD is the most common mental disorder in Australian children followed by anxiety disorders and depressive disorders. Children need to be understood in various contexts- developmental, educational, social and cultural to name but a few. We at DPP, will undertake a thorough assessment of your child and bring together all factors in order to make a diagnosis and plan treatment. We will provide some or all aspects of the treatment plan in discussion with you.

Adult Psychiatry

Our psychiatrists provide assessment, treatment and follow-up of most psychiatric disorders.

Darwin ADHD Clinic

As part of Darwin Private Psychiatry Clinic, we specialise in delivering comprehensive, holistic evidence-based assessment and therapy to children, adolescents and adults in Darwin who may be experiencing ADHD and ASD (Autistic spectrum disorder) and related problems. Psychology Services

Children services:

Assessments, including cognitive assessment, behavioural assessment, and neurodevelopmental assessments, developmental screening for young infants, behavioural interventions, counselling and therapy, liaison with paediatricians and parenting and positive behaviour support.

Adult services:

Counselling and therapy for a number of issues, including problem solving, parenting support, perinatal mental health support, adjustment and transitions to life stages, social and emotional development, anxiety, depression, and relationships.

Telepsychiatry

We are able to provide Telepsychiatry for remote and rural clients. It may be possible to do bulk billing for this purpose
